I am so happy!!!
My little girl is now a Mrs!She makes me very proud of the way she has conducted her life so far. An honest, hardworking, empathetic smasher of a daughter!
She lives in Australia now with her new husband and they had decided to get married here in Liverpool, UK! So not only have we all had to cope with the 'stress' (if that's the right description?) of arranging a wedding but poor daughter and husband had to do it long distance!
Any hoo after 8 months the wedding went off beautifully!
I had to walk her down the aisle as her own dad died 17yrs ago...I cannot remember being that shaky nervous EVER!
They look lovely together!
Arrhh well back to 'normal' life and plans to get myself over to the land of Oz for a hol!
I had a good week selling my wares last week...(well won't pay the bills yet!!)...most important sales were the fabric I make and the dyed fabric I sell.
Funny I miss looking at my sea view fabric!
Oh well I must move on! Let me show you what am working on now....Choc-lime....
lime silk/satin iron onto muslin. Fixed with wavy lines of machine stitching giving waves and folds of fabric.
Then lace, brown lining fabric sewn on and in between the waves and folds.
Here I felt the lime was a bit too brash (!) so before more machine stitching I put some dark green lining fabric on too.
Loads more machine sewing down. Then hand stitching on shapes and attaching leather.
So here I am stuck and waiting!
I love what going on. I love the textures of the fabrics against each other....but there needs to be something else....I'm playing with snippets of fabric...knobbly large stitches (French knots with fabric)...or couching of lace tubes....and which colour...there's hints of pink too....dunno...it's hanging on a wall so when I go past it I can consider it in different lights and views!!!
I'm thinking the fabric will make fab cushion covers....WHEN it's finished....
Thanks for reading!
